Product information about our interior pipes
About our pipes and fittings:
Our pipes and pipe fittings are made for interior decoration. You can assemble parts yourself to make furniture such as wine holders, candlesticks, shelf consoles and much, much more, only your imagination sets the limit. If you like the industrial interior style, or steam-punk, then our home interior will suit you and your style perfectly. Tired of what you have? Complete and rebuild into something else.
Our lacquered products are very resistant to external conditions and look the same for many years. The surface treatment is a good protection against rust and corrosion and it makes your products look good year after year.
Powder-coated pipes or natural?
Pipe fittings sold in natural or natural color are metallic clean on delivery. If they are exposed to moisture and humidity, some corrosion will occur. Some people like the "worn" style that comes with some rust, but if you want to be sure to keep the surface so they look the same year after year, we recommend that you treat them in some way, clear coat in a spray can is enough.
Assemble furniture from pipes:
Assembly of parts is done easily by hand, but in some cases you can use hand tools such as e.g. polygrip/pipe pliers and wrench. If you want to be sure that the parts will not thread themselves over time, you can apply a small amount of thread locking to the threads during assembly, just keep in mind that it can be very difficult to get them apart again afterwards. If you have planned to put the parts together with thread sealant, we recommend that you first "test fit" and make sure everything looks right before disassembling and applying the thread sealant.
Sometimes you have to "lock the position" without tightening all the way. this is typical when you e.g. builds lamp-men from pipes. This can sometimes be a little more complicated and require a little more patience and tinkering. A good way to do this is to use epoxy glue, which is both very hard when dry but which also fills in any gaps. cavity so that the pipes do not play even if they are not screwed in all the way. Then you can put a "clamp" that holds the pipes in place while the epoxy dries.
The quality of our interior pipes:
All our products are of industrial quality, but we sell them as furnishing items, so our products are not approved as e.g. water pipes during construction. They can withstand a lot of weight and are made to last for many years and thanks to their solid construction, they can also be pulled with some weight.
Marks and 'dings' on our products:
There may be some marks during the manufacture, shipping and handling of these products. Any marks are not repaired as we believe that it may be part of the "rustic", steam-punk style. Should you, on the other hand, be dissatisfied with your particular product, you can always order a new one, however, we are not responsible for the return shipping for your flawless but slightly worn part.
Does size matter?
It is sometimes said that size doesn't matter, but when it comes to our products, it definitely matters.
What sizes of pipes are there?
We sell our pipes and pipe fittings in several different sizes. The size can have both practical significance as different sizes are better suited to different types of interior design. First we go through the sizes we have while comparing them with a toilet paper / paper towel tube and an aluminum can.
The tubes are sold by some other traders in inch size ("") and then it is often the inner diameter of the tube that we are talking about, we choose to enter them in millimeters and we are talking about the outer diameter.
20 mm, also called 1/2". The narrowest variant that we have in our system. This means that the outer diameter of the pipe itself is 20 mm, if you take the pipe fittings, they are of course larger as they are threaded on the inside and it takes some goods to thread in, for example, if you compare it with a standard telescopic model curtain rod, where there are two parts that you can pull apart / pull together, the thicker part of the curtain rod has a diameter of approx.
26 mm, also called 3/4". This is our intermediate model in our standard segment. The outer diameter of these pipes is therefore 26 mm and the connections are slightly coarser.
32 mm, also called 1". This is the coarsest variant that we have in our range, except for some specific parts where we can have coarser parts. For comparison, the inner tube of a roll of household paper/toilet paper is approx. 39-40 mm.
40 mm, also called 1 1/4". In this size we only have specific products and transitions used for special builds. Read more about this below.
What size do you recommend for my DIY build?
It is difficult to always recommend a certain size for all times and often you can change sizes to get a different style but here are some tips and advice.
Our 20 mm interior pipes:
Our narrowest pipes, 20 mm (also called 1/2") are mostly used for smaller furnishings and things that you want to look a little more neat and tidy. These are by far the most common pipes used in the home. They are perfect for plumbers who you can build as lamps, wine racks, paper holders and rails to hang everything from kitchen utensils to towels on.You can build most things with these pipes and they are really strong to build most things with.
26 mm pipes for interior design:
Our "middle" series, 26 mm (also called 3/4") is perfect for e.g. candlesticks as the candle holders fit well in these. Also for lamp construction from tubes, whether they are to stand in the window or if you want to build a If you want to build a slightly stronger coat hanger or clothes rack, you can also build a holder for paper you build your own shelf bracket in an industrial style for the smaller shelves, these will look really nice.
32 mm pipe for the industrial home:
Our thickest standard pipes are 32 mm (also called 1"), perfect for the slightly larger and more durable constructions. Maybe you like the rustic, industrial interior and want to build a stair railing. If you are building a bookcase that you want to mix in industrial pipes, these are perfect, as well as footrests for the bar, only the imagination sets the limits. These black powder-coated tubes also fit perfectly as shelf brackets for the larger shelves if you are building e.g. TV / Stereo bench or similar.
40 mm pipe fittings:
Our 40 mm fittings are more suitable for special purposes. In our short pipes, the neck of a wine bottle fits well, likewise in our T-crosses in this size, which can be connected with our narrower pipes for the rest of the construction. If you are building a lamp, our transitions here, along with a transition to 1" pipe, are perfect for putting a lamp base or holder for an E27 bulb in.
As you can see above, different pipes are often used for different things, but this is just a simpler guide, it is your taste, imagination and style that determines what you can use the pipes for.
